About The Word Doc
Gordon McCulloch
Good communication has always been at the heart of Gordon’s career. During his time at Edinburgh Tourist Board, he dealt with front-line visitor enquiries, marketed Scotland’s Capital overseas and handled travel press enquiries and visits. On the print side, he wrote travel trade and press releases and newsletters and coordinated Edinburgh’s overseas print in eight languages.
His role at True North Events, a tourism marketing and events company, included researching and designing guide scripts for visitor attractions. These included the first public tours of Mary King’s Close, the plague street beneath Edinburgh’s City Chambers.
As a freelance public relations consultant, Gordon helped launch the high-profile Tower Restaurant within the new Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. He also created short break campaign and advertising copy for design hotel group Apex Hotels.
Now, as a copywriter, Gordon brings his fresh eye to a wide range of clients, mainly in the tourism sector.
